DVD-ROM

Although a DVD can hold 4.7GB of data, the bulk of this must go to the video section of your DVD. Allocating too little space to the video results in colour 'blocks' appearing on your TV screen, also known as artefacts.

The amount of free space left on your disc for DVD-ROM content is directly related to the amount of video you give us to transfer. If the amount of DVD-ROM content compromises the compression quality of your video, we will let you know before beginning work on your project, and advise you on possible workarounds.

Your DVD can hold a large amount of data on it, equivalent to 7 CDs.

Although most of this space is taken up by the DVD-video portion, there should be enough to hold other features in the DVD-ROM area of the disc, accessible using a computer with a DVD-ROM drive.

If you have slideshows on your DVD, you can get the high-resolution scans of the photos placed on the DVD-ROM section of the disc.
